This account of a trip through Asia (Japan, Indonesia, India, Nepal), the Mediterranean (Turkey, Greece),  and a bit of Europe as well is intended to document both the experience itself and the person perceiving it.  I don’t know if I have an “awakening” mind but whatever comes up seems both essential and poignant for an appreciation of “things as they are” (as the Soto Zen founder, Dôgen, wrote some 10 centuries ago).  Whether anyone reads these posts is beside the point.  They will keep me focused and attentive, key perceptions at the start of a long, six-month trip.
